Church Board

The governing body of the United Church of Fayetteville is the Church Board, which has responsibility for the program and spiritual life of the church, and the legal responsibility for the church's finances and property. The Church Board meets monthly under the leadership of a lay Moderator. Elders are chosen for three-year terms and are ordained and installed in a worship service. Each elder leads or is a member of a committee of the church. Two youth elders are also chosen and ordained for one year renewable terms (up to three years).

The work of committees is coordinated by the Vice Moderator and the Planning and Coordinating Council (PCC). The PCC meets monthly, sets the agenda for the Church Board meetings, and helps to clarify church goals. The PCC consists of the Moderator, Vice Moderator, former Moderator, Pastor, Clerk, Finance Chairperson, Personnel/Staff Support Chairperson, and program staff.

We welcome and invite members of the congregation to share their gifts and talents by participating in a church committee, small group, educational opportunity, service project, and other activities to further their spiritual journey. Ministry Funds

These special funds were established for the named purposes below and may receive contributions at any time.

Emergency Assistance Fund Established to provide assistance for local families in emergencies.

Nan & Lou Marshall Fund Established in memory of 2 members to provide college scholarship assistance to high school youth in the congregation (based on an essay about their faith)

New Horizons Fund Established in 1999 with income from the long- term lease for use of the steeple space by telecommunications company. Proceeds are designated for specific mission projects beyond the church after review by the committee.

New Wineskins Fund Established to provide seed money to underwrite new ministries within the church.

Prickett Scholarship Fund Established in memory of the Rev. Ms. Donna Prickett, to provide scholarship assistance to young people intending careers in health-related fields or youth who need assistance to attend youth related trips.
