It is the mission of our Children's Ministries to:
- provide a loving and accepting place for every child and every family to grow in their love and understanding of God
- provide meaningful and engaging activities in bible learning, fellowship, service and outreach
- help children and their families discover and put to work the talents that God has given them
- come together to create a community bonded in the love of God and united in His work

We are excited to have you join us!

Church school classes and choirs are offered Sunday morning. In choir, children easily learn Bible lessons and Christian values through the fun and creativity of music and drama. These same lessons are highlighted in Children's Morning Worship and then explored in the church school classrooms through discussion and activities. As the children bring what they learn into worship and into the community, they experience lessons in leadership, service and mission. We encourage children to participate fully in all these ministries.

Cherub Choir
Cherub Choir is a first choir experience filled with fun musical experiences. Children learn songs, play musical games and use rhythm instruments to learn bible lessons. They share the music they learn in worship and in outreach activities like Valentine caroling to homebound members. Cherub choir is for children in Pre-Kindergarten through grade 2 and meets Sunday mornings from 9 to 9:25 a.m. in Room 8. Directed by Judy Spencer and accompanied by Sue Boland.

Children's/Chimes Choir
Children's/Chimes Choir is for children in grades 3 through 6 and meets Sunday mornings from 9-9:25 a.m. in Room 10. They discover the joy of praising God in song and share their music in worship. This choir often joins in church musicals - a fun way of learning Bible lessons. Members enjoy using tone chimes to lead hymn and carol singing. Directed by Jim Spencer and Mary Doto.

Children's Signing Choir
Children's Signing Choir is new this year. Children learn to interpret hymns and songs in American Sign Language and present them in worship. The twenty-minute rehearsal takes place immediately after worship in Beard Lounge during the Fellowship Time. Directed by Janet Press and Jackie Meyer.

Children's Morning Worship
Children's Morning Worship lets children experience elements of worship in a short, child-friendly service as they act as acolytes and liturgists. They experience giving and mission through the weekly offering. This gathering builds a sense of community and includes children from Pre-Kindergarten to grade 6. It begins Sundays at 9:25 a.m. in Room 10. Teachers and children move together to church school classes following Children's Morning Worship.

Church School
Church School is the place where the adults in our church lead children to a fuller understanding of God's love through age appropriate discussion and activity centered on the lessons and values of our Christian faith. Teachers act as examples of faith in action and through their ministry plant the seeds of a mentoring relationship with each child. Church school classes for Pre-K through grade 6 are taught from 9:35-10:25 a.m. Classroom locations are posted throughout the church.

Nursery Care
Nursery Care is available for infants through children age 5 downstairs in Room 3. The nursery is open from 9:00 a.m. through the end of the morning service. A paid childcare provider assisted by volunteers from the church help make this a warm, friendly and secure experience of God's love for the littlest ones.

Enrichment
Enrichment is offered during the Sunday worship service for children in Kindergarten through grade 2. Supervised by adult volunteers, children enjoy a variety of fun activities including games and craft projects in Room 1. The invitation to Enrichment is indicated in the worship bulletin. Enrichment is not offered when communion is served on the first Sunday of each month. Books, drawing materials and activity bulletins are available at the back and front of the sanctuary for children who remain in the worship service.

Serving in Worship
Serving in Worship is encouraged in addition to our regular Sunday morning activities. Children and their families are invited to participate as acolytes, greeters, ushers and liturgists during regular worship services.

Children's Fellowship and Mission
Children's Fellowship and Mission opportunities are offered for children and their families during the school year. Look for details of upcoming events in the church newsletter, on the Christian Education bulletin board, or contact Judy Spencer.

The Parents' Place
The Parents' Place offers a chance for parents to gather in the church school area to relax, fellowship and share concerns. Coffee and refreshments are provided. Room 5 will be open Sunday mornings from 9-10:20 a.m.
